George Harrison was born in Liverpool on either late Feburary 24 or early Feburary 25, 1943. He started smoking and drinking at a very young age. foreshadowing.
He was pretty good at guitar. Friend Paul McCartney suggested to his boyfriend bandmate John Lennon that they should invite Harrison into their band, the Quarrymen. Lennon was initially reluctant as Georgey was only 14 at the time, whereas John was of the ripe old age of 17.
They played a lot of gigs around England and even some in distant lands like Scotland and Wales. Eventually they were given a residency in Hamburg Germany, which George couldn't go to because he was 17 but he went earlier. Halfway through, the by-now renamed Beatles switched to a different venue that had better working conditions. For revenge, the first venue's manager dude had George deported :(. Before they left though, George did some cool stuff like lose his virginity to some random German prostitute and throw up and then just not clean up the puke (or maybe that was John I don't remember).
Back in England they got a recording deal with Parlophone (probably spelled wrong), a subdivision of EMI. But George Inferior, the producer of the bad ties, fucking hated their drummer so they fired him and replaced him with Ringo. They did a relatively well-received single or two and then an album. Pookie didn't write any songs there but sang on The Cookies' Chains, & Lennon/McCartney's Do You Want to Know a Secret. Chains is great, the other one is a bit boring imo but not Why Don't We Do It in the Road-level bad or anything.
George died on the 29th of November 2001 of lung cancer at age 58.
